Opportunity:
RN - PACU
Job Details:
• Monday through Friday set schedule with no weekend rotation or on-call responsibilities
• No holiday expectations required
• Shift times per requisition
• Minimum 2 years of Phase I/Phase II PACU experience required
• First-time travelers may be considered with extensive PACU experience
• Care for inpatient, outpatient, and observation patients including pediatric and adult populations
• Treat a wide variety of patient types including general, plastics, urology, GI, bariatrics, GYN, minor vascular, neurosurgery, robotics, ophthalmology, orthopedic, cardiothoracic, ENT, endovascular, post-cath, post-IR/Neuro IR, and bronchoscopy cases
• Average combined census of 60-80 patients per day across both PACU units
• Patient ratios: Pre-op 1:3, Phase I 1:2, Phase II 1:3
• Regularly float between Phase I and Phase II Recovery for Main and East PACU
• Will receive a daily staffing sheet indicating which PACU unit to report to
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage cardiac drips
• Provide discharge instructions and work both Phase I and Phase II recovery
• Experience recovering post-cath, bronch, and IR patients highly preferred
• Hard stop skills required: arterial lines, TR bands, chest tubes, CBI, and EPIC
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CAPA or CPAN
• EMR system: EPIC proficiency required
• IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis
• Scrub color: Any solid color, professional; no logos, graphics, or designs
• Free parking available on-site
• No more than 4 days of RTO will be approved
Facility:
This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level III NICU and Maternity Center, as well as a designated Primary Stroke Center with 167 beds. The facility operates two PACU units within the same building, featuring a combined 66 pre/post rooms and 27 Phase I PACU bays. The department is supported by charge RNs, management, CNA/LPN staff, 24/7 hospitalist and respiratory therapy coverage, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and bedside telemetry monitoring.
